almost finished
For the past few weeks i have been working on the painting above, i have been heavily inspired by Del Kathryn Barton (who is actually one of my favourite artists!). I have used a range of different materials and techniques including watercolour dripping, acrylic paint, and permanent marker which i have rarely ever used before. I am not quite finished yet, but i am nearly there! i can't wait to show you all the painting when it is finally finished xxx

doodles
follow my instagram @jordanaaelise
the above images are a few of my quick doodles, as well as some paintings taken with instagram. i am really enjoying this app, it's quite fun to use and i love how the effects can change the image completely which can somehow turn the crappy quality photos of an iphone 3g into something brilliant!

plain face
i found a pack of watercolour paints in the garage the other day, so i thought i would give them a go. i have never done a full watercolour painting, so these were my very first proper watercolour paintings ever. i actually really enjoyed doing them, as i did them in less than 30 minutes and didn't get bored at all.. plus there was no mess at all which was definitely a bonus!

finished
do you guys remember quite awhile ago? i posted my progress so far on this painting i was doing? (if not, then click here).... well i completely forgot to show you the final piece! this is it, i couldn't do the eyes very well but i am overall happy with this painting. i actually like the different tones of one colour, and the rough and lazy look. i think i may use this style of painting more often then. also, since exams are finally over, and school is so close to finishing for the year i will have more time for painting, drawing and getting creating!

tangled
i am a little bit obsessed with these 'this is' products, they are all just so simple but effective. they are all very minimal jewelery that have their own unique charm. my favourite is the second last item, it is such an awesome bangle! i love how there are different spots of colours onto the all black colour. sadly these beauties are quite expensive (well expensive for me), as they range from $50 - $200.
okay, since this post is a little on the creative side already, i thought i would post this painting i did recently. it is not that amazing since it is only a trial for the main piece for art at school. i have used acrylic paint and a palette knife instead of a brush. i really like the look of a palette knife and also when it is dry it feels very rough. my inspiration for this piece is Ben Quilty. he is an amazing Australian artists who paints massive interesting paintings using a palette knife. all his paintings are incredible, as they are so cool!

lost and free
just a quick couple of shots of my painting so far (i still have a lot to go), but i think it is going quite well at the moment. i guess i am using a loose and free brush stroke, so this painting is not just 'smooth and perfect' and i like the rough look of it. well, i don't really know what else there is to say but i guess if you have any questions just ask!
oh and also, just thought i would let you know that there are only 88 days till summer!

drawing yuri
on friday night i started to draw yuri pleskun (the photo of him with the black eye). at first it was quite a breeze because i only started with one side of the face but when i went to draw the other half of the face i struggled quite a bit. i could not get both his eyes the same shape and on the same line, and then on the right eye i kept rubbing it out and drawing it again so soon the paper started to crinkle (it was so close to ripping!). I don't think it looks exactly like him, but i know that i was pretty close. I have a whole list of models to draw next, so i will keep you updated with my upcoming drawings. for next time i also have to remember to do both eyes at the same time so that i do not have a lot of trouble like i did in this drawing.
